BLUE EARTH — A Blue Earth teenager has been sentenced to probation in the suspected synthetic drug overdose death of his girlfriend.

Judge David Peterson followed a plea agreement in sentencing the boy in juvenile court last week.

The boy earlier pleaded guilty to reduced charges of second-degree manslaughter and third-degree drug possession.

The teen was accused of giving 17-year-old Chloe Moses of Mankato a capsule containing a white powder. Moses died on March 10 from a bad reaction to the drug.

The judge required the boy to speak to youth groups, high schools and other places, to be determined by his probation agent.

The case will be dismissed if the boy successfully completes probation.
