Apple Valley deaths were murder-suicide

APPLE VALLEY — Autopsy results confirm the deaths of two adults and one child in Apple Valley were the result of a murder-suicide. 

Twenty-nine-year-old David Crowley, his wife, 28-year-old Komel Crowley, and their 5-year-old daughter Ranita, were found dead Saturday in their Apple Valley home.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said all three died of a gunshot wound to the head. Ranita and Komel Crowley’s deaths were ruled homicides, while David Crowley’s death was ruled a suicide.

The medical examiner lists Saturday as their date of death, but the day of injury is left blank on the news release.

Neighbors and family members have told local media that they hadn’t heard from the family in weeks. Police said their bodies were discovered Saturday by a neighbor.
