Police enforcing winter parking policies
The Albert Lea Police Department is reminding residents to remember the city’s policy regarding snow removal and street parking to allow adequate plowing up to the curb.
Cars are only allowed to be parked on public streets for a period of 12 consecutive hours.
Deputy Director of Police J.D. Carlson said police went around the city Wednesday night and orange tagged vehicles that had been parked on the street for a long period of time. The orange tag gives the owners a warning.
For vehicles that are not moved by this afternoon, officers will issue citations. If the vehicles are then not moved in four hours, the vehicles can be towed.
1 arrested on warrant, drug possession
Albert Lea police arrested Higenio Conception Madrigal, 49, on a local warrant for failing to appear at a hearing and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday.
