Muriel was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Ellendale. She was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Brynestad) Sorenson. She grew up in the Ellendale area where she attended school. She worked at home as a homemaker.
On Dec. 7, 1952, Muriel was united in marriage to Glenn Shaunce at the Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The coupled traveled a lot in their motor home and went to Texas for many winters. When she was back here during the summer months she loved to sit out in her front yard and wave at the cars driving by. She also liked to sew while listening to Classic Country Radio, collect various knick-knacks and dolls, and enjoyed her coffee get-togethers with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; parents; son, Conrad Jensen; and siblings Luella Nelson, Marlys Sorenson, Howard Sorenson and Donald Sorenson.
Muriel is survived by her son, Larry Shaunce, of Albert Lea; grandchildren Christina Jensen and Cindy Kilby; siblings Bernetta Hanson of Albert Lea, Margaret (Clifford) Otterson of Albert Lea, Donna Guevara of Albert Lea, Richard (Linda) Sorenson of Waseca and Raymond Olson of California; a sister in-law, Audrey Sorenson; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is loved by all and will be sadly missed.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the attention and care that was given to Muriel by the first responders and the hospital staff.
