Paul Madson, 1963-2014

Funeral Services for Paul J. Madson of Walters will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.

Paul died suddenly at home Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014. He was 51.

Paul, the son of Milo and Ardis (Jensen)  Madson, was born Aug. 9, 1963, in Minneapolis.

Paul was baptized and confirmed at West Freeborn Lutheran Church and attended Freeborn Schools and Albert Lea Vo-Tech.

Paul married Kerin Koziolek in 1986 and they were later divorced. Two children were born to this union, Casey and Tanya.

Throughout his life Paul had farmed with his dad, worked at Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and also managed Magnuson’s in Austin. Paul and his fiancee, Joyce, made their home in the Walters area for many years.

As a self-taught musician and songwriter, music played a huge part in Paul’s life. He was proud to have recorded some of his work and felt fortunate to have worked with some very notable musicians.

Paul enjoyed gardening, nature and working on small engines.

Paul is survived by his son, Casey (Stacie) Madson, and their daughter, Evelyn, of Hartland; daughter, Tanya Madson, of Minneapolis; fiancee, Joyce Busch-Anderson, of Walters; his parents Milo and Ardis Madson of Hartland; brother, Joel (Koreen) Madson, of Waseca; sisters Connie (Kelly) Brown of Waverly, Iowa, and Kristin (Mark) Langan of Austin; aunt and uncle Jeanette and Ronald Johannsen of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and godson, Jesse Madson.
