Play was perfect for Albert Lea Art Center

There are events in Albert Lea when community comes together to create something beautiful. For the Albert Lea Art Center, the play, “Flyin’ into Christmas” on Dec. 5 and 6, was one of those events. Under the direction of Dylan Kaercher and with the participation of local talent, the audience at the high school auditorium was treated to the sights and sounds of the holidays, set against a humorous backdrop of travelers stranded at an airport on Christmas.
We would like to thank first and foremost, the very talented Dylan Kaercher, who not only wrote and directed the play but also starred in it. His talent and creativity are truly a gift to local theater enthusiasts and one we look forward to seeing more of. Additionally, his generous spirit in donating a large percentage of the proceeds from the play to the Art Center is indicative of a true patron of the arts.
The cast and crew were sensational! Our community is very blessed to have such creatively passionate and talented people. If the caliber of talent showcased in this play is an indication of future productions, we are all in for many more years of fabulous entertainment!
We would also like to thank our honored sponsors of the two-night play: Claire and Ruth Vermedahl, Tom and Judy Mullen, Minnesota Abstract & Title Company, Albert Lea Select Foods, Tina Stripe and Northbridge Mall, Cyrene and Jack Berthiaume, Emily Troe, Mayo Clinic Health System of Austin, Albert Lea Tribune and BeMobile: Verizon Premium Retailer. This success of this play would not have been possible without the support of our generous sponsors.
And we cannot forget Joyce Nixon, fundraiser and Art Center supporter extraordinaire! We don’t know what we’d do without you. You are a true gem in our treasure trove of Art Center ambassadors!
And, finally, we thank the Albert Lea community members who purchased tickets and attended the play. For 45 years the Albert Lea Art Center has remained strong and intact because our community is one that appreciates and supports the arts. Thank you for your continued patronage!
Happy holidays!
