Thelma was deaf from birth and was cared for by many loving people at various group homes throughout her life. She taught herself to read and write and loved to color, crochet and knit.
Thelma was a member of the ARC and enjoyed all the activities especially dances they held every month.
Thelma loved to dance. She was also a member of the Special Olympics and loved bowling.
She was a Minnesota Twins fan and her trips to Chanhassen Dinner Theater brought her great delight.
Thelma got much enjoyment from her attendance and participation at Calvary Baptist Church, now Bridge Community Church-North.
Her life will bring fond memories to her housemates and staff at REM-Skylark, her special friend Kathy Knutson and her guardian for the past several years, Traci Lowman. Much appreciation for her loving, caring church family and to all the REM-Skylark staff for the exemplary care she was given the last 30 years.
Thelma loved to share affection especially with children. She would give hugs and kisses whenever she could. Thelma will be greatly missed for her loving, entertaining, happy disposition.
