Edward Hannaman, 1938-2015

Edward C. Hannaman, 76, of rural Blue Earth died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with the Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Emerald Township. Visitation time will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th St. in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church. Edward was born Oct. 7, 1938, in JoDavis Towhship, Faribault County, the son of Edward W. and Florence (Mittelstadt) Hannaman. He was raised south of Guckeen and attended Huntley High School, graduating in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army in 1957 and 1958 before returning to his family farm.
He was married to Sharon K. Martin March 28, 1969, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Emerald Township. Ed was a bulldozer operator for many years as a member of the local 49ers union and had begun farming in 1989 as well. He retired in 1996 and continued to farm until present. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed his many trips to Lake of the Woods with his family.
Edward C. Hannaman is survived by his wife, Sharon Hannaman, of Blue Earth; his daughter, Kelli Hannaman, of Maple Grove; his son, Chad Hannaman, of Granada; his sister, Nancy (Lu) Otto, of Hot Springs Village, Arizona; his brother, Rusty (Shirley) Hannaman, of Blue Earth; his sisters-in-law Bonnie Sargent of St. Paul, Gayle (David) Classon of Blue Earth and Jean (Arlen) Prescher of Albert Lea; his brother-in-law, Garry Martin, of Blue Earth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marc Hannaman; father- and mother-in-law Elmer and Eva Martin; and his sister-in-law, Karen Martin.
