Funeral services for Ethel Annabelle Olson of Albert Lea, formerly of Hartland, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. The Rev. Mark Hillmer will officiate. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery in Hartland. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.

Ethel died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Albert Lea. She was 92.

She was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Albert Lea, the daughter of A.J. (Jim) and Evelyn “Eva” (Montanye) Pirkl. She grew up in the Geneva community and attended country school. She graduated from Ellendale High School with the class of 1941 and then attended business school in Minneapolis. She worked in the office of Wilson & Co. in Albert Lea.

On Aug. 24, 1946, she married Oliver Olson at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. Together they lived and farmed in rural Hartland and were members of the Cross of Glory congregation. Her greatest enjoyment came from gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her family, children Kenneth  (Peggy) Olson of Waseca, Colleen (LuVern) Lyle of Oakland and Darwyn (Ladonna) Olson of Hartland; grandchildren Laura Langer of Waseca, Carrie (Kyle) Holmen of Owatonna, Audra (Kenneth) Pritchard of Lake Elmo, Erica (Bo) Morternsen of Brandon, South Dakota, Stacia (Chad) Miller of Rochester and Melissa (Alvin) Barclay of Oakland; great-grandchildren Joseph, Bethany, Samantha, Molly, Gavin, Lucas, Grace, Mayson, Logan, Allie and Avery;  two sisters-in-law, Wilma Pirkl and Alice Simonson; two nieces, Connie Johnson and Vicki Lysne; one nephew, Alex Pirkl; and a number of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents A.J. and Eva Pirkl; husband, Oliver; brother,  Zeral  Pirkl; infant sister, Estelle; and nephew, LaRuen Johnson.
