Funeral services for Jeanette R. Gulbrandson, 90, of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.The Rev. James Kassera will officiate. Jeanette died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at St. Marys Hospital.
Jeanette Ruth Gulbrandson was born March 27, 1924, in Bancroft Township, the daughter of Jens and Ruth (Gjermundson) Hovland. She was baptized and confirmed at Manchester Lutheran Church. Jeanette attended District 20 (Barlow School) and junior high in Albert Lea. She graduated from Bethany Lutheran High School in Mankato in June 1943.
On Aug. 3, 1947, Jeanette was united in marriage to Howard Gulbrandson at Manchester Lutheran Church. She was employed as a legal secretary in the office of attorney Joseph Gunderson from June 1943 until her retirement Dec. 31, 1984. Jeanette was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church since 1947. She was active in the Ladies Aid and the Rebecca Sewing Circle.
Jeanette is survived by nephews David (Jeanne) Swanson and James (Joyce) Hoium and nieces Jeanine (David) Christensen and Janis (David) Springborg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; sisters Otelia (Lester) Ross and Pearl (John) Swanson; nephews John Swanson and Larry Hoium; sister-in-law, Gertie Hoium-Hyland, and her husbands Leslie Hoium and Ed Hyland.
