NEW BRIGHTON — Police are looking for a man who ran from officers in New Brighton and left his car behind with a loaded gun and bulletproof vest. 

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder said an officer tried to pull the man over about 10 p.m. Thursday because he was acting suspiciously. The driver fled in his vehicle when the officer activated his emergency lights.

Police followed the vehicle to New Brighton where the suspect pulled over and ran.
