Albert Lea Community Theatre announced that auditions will be at 7 p.m. March 23 and 24 for “The Foreigner” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway in Albert Lea.

Directed by Gordy Handeland, eight performances of the classic comedy are scheduled for May 7 through May 16, according to a press release. There are seven roles in the show for men and women. Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script. Rehearsals will be scheduled weeknights, with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates.

An inspired comic romp, “The Foreigner” demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters must deal with a stranger who — they think — knows no English. Set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, the comedy is nonstop, inventive hilarity that is one comic surprise after another.
