ELCA will host conference

The Blue Earth Conference Women of the ELCA spring event will be April 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 S. Washington Ave. in Albert Lea. The event will be co-hosted by Oakland Lutheran WELCA.
Registration, coffee and fellowship begin at 8 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m., with no noon lunch served. Elevator access is at the street entrance and registration is $5.
The theme is “Our Hands: God’s Work within the Community.” Karen Doering from from Channel One Regional Food Bank in Rochester will present the message. She has been involved since she was 6 helping her mother in the soup kitchen, and will relate how people can work together to more effectively fight hunger.
There will be updates from Kathy Krebsbach on the Student Fighting Hunger backpack program at the United South Central school district in Wells, the Rev. Tammy Dahlving from Campus Ministries and reports from Bev Jackson Cotter and Pat Goldman on the WELCA triennial convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, last July.
Offerings will be designated to the Women of the ELCA, Campus Ministries and Channel One/backpack programs.
Southeast Minnesota Women of the ELCA, Channel One, Student Hunger backpack program, Campus Ministries and Good Earth Village will have displays and exhibits.
