Riverland Community College is Albert Lea’s second Blue Zones worksite.
The college had a ribbon cutting and received a certificate of their designation on Tuesday.
“Becoming a Blue Zones worksite perfectly aligns with one of Riverland Community College’s key motivations as illustrated by our Heart of Riverland statement: ‘Riverland Community College is dedicated to our students, our mission and our communities,’” said Adenuga Atewologun, Riverland college president, in a press release. “This honor also reinforces our determination to heighten our strong partnership with the Albert Lea community and one of our strategic action plans to focus on employee wellness. Thank you for recognizing those efforts with this recognition.”
Albert Lea’s first Blue Zones worksite was Freeborn Mower Cooperative Services. Albert Lea also has a Blue Zones grocery store in Hy-Vee and a Blue Zones restaurant in The Interchange Wine and Coffee Bistro.
