On Feb. 17, eight people, most of whom had experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide met to explore the possibility of starting a Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group.
According to a news release, all grief is challenging; however, loss to
suicide is has some additional dynamics.
The group decided it would like to establish a formal group. Meetings will be the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 S. Washington Ave., in Albert Lea.
The meetings will be held in Jacobsen Hall, which can be located by entering the building at the corner of Washington Avenue and Pearl Street. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. March 17. This initiative is a follow-up from some of the people who attended the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Event on Nov. 22.
