Burning ban continues today

Freeborn County remains under a burning ban today that will continue through 9 p.m., according to Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag.

Freitag said though the area received some rain overnight, the county is still on the edge of a Red Flag Burning Ban.

A dry pocket of air is forecasted to move into the area for most of the day, which will have lower humidity than Wednesday.

 

Grass fire reported

A grass fire was reported at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday at 78228 150th St., Albert Lea.

 

Man arrested for disorderly conduct, assault

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Keith Anderson Lawrence, 47, for disorderly conduct, fourth- and fifth-degree assault and terroristic threats after receiving a report of a fight at 9:16 p.m. at 142 N. Broadway in Alden. The report stated one woman was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

 

Insulation sprayed on houses

Foam insulation was reported sprayed all over the front step, window and doorbell at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday at 705 E. Richway Drive.

The front door of 1706 Keystone Drive was reported sprayed with spray foam at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday on the 1600 block of Crystal Drive.

A mailbox was reported sprayed with foam at 12:06 a.m. today at 1617 Crystal Drive.

Police stated today there is a juvenile suspect in the case.

 

TV stolen

A television was reported stolen at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday at 105 North Star Road in Alden.

 

Fraudulent return reported

Albert Lea police received a report of a fraudulent return at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday at Shopko, 2610 Bridge Ave.

 

Vehicle damaged 

A vehicle parked in the Mayo Clinic Health System parking lot, 404 Fountain St., was reported damaged at 7:29 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Windows damaged

A window was reported broken out of a house at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday at 1016 Bridge Ave.

Damage was reported at 12:28 a.m. today to the east window at 704 Johnson St. The damage reportedly took place on Saturday.
