Civil War group plans next meeting

The Cannon Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. April 16 at the Faribault Senior Citizen Center, 19 W. Division St. The meeting is free and open to the public, according to a press release.
Tom Hosier of Rochester will speak. He is the past president of the Winona and Rochester Civil War Roundtables, co-founder and program chairman of the Veterans Roundtable and president of the Woodlake Battlefield Preservation Association.
He will ride in on a horse, telling of President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination in April of 1965. He will be in period clothes and those attending will be in 1865.
The month of April marks the 150th commemoration or remembrance of Lincoln’s death.
Questions and answers, discussions, decaf coffee and mess will follow the presentation.
