The Worth County 4-H will have dog obedience classes on three Sundays in May and the first Sunday of June at the Worth County Fairgrounds in Northwood. The program will kick off at 4 p.m. May 3 and will follow up with three more sessions on May 17, May 31 and June 7 with all sessions beginning at 4 p.m.
The workshops will focus on helping 4-H members get their dogs trained and ready to show at the Worth County Fair dog show at 8:30 a.m. June 17. Members of 4-H will learn about training their dog for basic obedience, figure 8, standing for exam and agilities.
Youth 4-H members are required to have veterinarian records of vaccinations prior to participation. The sessions are free and parents are encouraged to participate if project members are beginners to the 4-H dog project area.
Those wanting more information are asked to call Worth County Extension Education Specialist Dennis Johnson or Worth County Extension Office Manager Mary Clagett at 641-324-1531.
