The preschool, kindergarten and first grade students of St. Casimir’s Catholic School in Wells visited the Dennis and Diane Lutteke organic dairy farm to learn how milk is produced. During their visit, the students learned how to milk a cow and saw the big tank where the milk is stored until it is transported to Organic Valley (a farmer-owned co-op) for bottling. The students also enjoyed the thrill of feeding the baby calves and received a ride on a tractor. Following these activities, the students were treated to a delicious snack of cheese and chocolate milk by the Luttekes. -Provided
