LAKE MILLS — Two people were injured Wednesday morning in a T-bone collision southwest of Lake Mills.
Adam Hickman, 43, of Forest City, Iowa, was transported by Lake Mills Ambulance crews to Mercy Medical Center — North Iowa in Mason City, and Ty Durby, 17, of Leland, Iowa, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Hickman was driving a 2011 Ford F250 northbound on Route 72 approaching 440th Street when Durby, who was driving a 2003 Chevy S10 pickup, failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the path of Hickman.
The report stated Durby had been traveling eastbound on 440th Street.
The front of Hickman’s pickup struck the passenger side of Durby’s, and both vehicles went into the ditch on the northeast corner of the intersection and rolled.
The crash took place at 8:20 a.m.
The report stated both were wearing their seat belts.
Authorities charged Durby with failure to obey a stop sign and yielding right of way.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Mills Fire Department.
