Located in downtown Albert Lea, Expressions Salon & Spa, 123 S. Broadway, is a full-service salon and spa that specializes in all the latest color techniques and haircuts.

In addition to cuts and color, it provides everything from extensions and perms, to tanning, massage, pedicures, manicures, waxing and facials. It can provide wedding parties, pedicure parties and even little girls’ birthday parties, to name a few.

The salon, owned by John and Jackie Abrego, has been in business for 14 years, but relocated to its present location on Broadway about eight years ago. It is in the former Sullivan’s Paint Store, and the building was renovated to fit the salon.

It features hardwood floors and exposed brick. Haircuts and color are done on the main level, while pedicures and manicures are done on the upper floor.

Before it moved to Broadway, Expressions was in the North Park plaza off of Bridge Avenue.

The business has 13 employees: eight stylists and five receptionists.

Jackie Abrego said the stylists are always attending continuing education classes to keep up on the newest trends.

All of the staff work well together as a team and will go the extra mile for both their clients and each other, Abrego said.

“We are most proud of our willingness to help one another achieve their individual goals,” she said.

In the upcoming year, she said they plan to continue to work hard and grow as a successful salon. She also hopes they continue learning and growing together.
