1 injured in crash with camper near Northwood

One person received minor injuries in a crash that temporarily shut down Iowa Highway 105 in Worth County on Sunday.

The crash occurred on Highway 105 near Thrush Avenue, according to a news released issued Monday by the Worth County Sheriff’s Office.

The release stated a vehicle, driven by Gerald Giese of Kasson ,was traveling southbound on Thrush Avenue when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a truck pulling a camper. The truck, driven by Dennis Peterson of Lake Mills, was traveling west on Highway 105.

A passenger in Giese’s vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

Giese was cited for failing to stop at the stop sign.

The release did not list the name of the person injured.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Northwood Fire and Rescue, Mason City ambulance, Worth County Secondary Roads and Dick’s Towing.
