Albert Lea Community Theatre is in need of male actors to perform in its summer musical, “South Pacific,” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway in Albert Lea.
Directed by Steven Kinney, eight performances of this epic musical romance are scheduled for July 16 through 25. The majority of the show has been cast, but there are still roles available for male actors. Young men in their late teens, twenties and early thirties are needed to play the part of sailors and will sing and dance as part of the chorus. Men in their late thirties and older are needed to play the part of officers and will not be required to sing or dance.
Rehearsals are scheduled weeknights, with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates. If you would like to get involved in community theatre and help celebrate ACT’s 50th anniversary by joining the cast of “South Pacific”, contact Karen Szymanowski, stage manager, at 507-402-1003 or 507-377-8456.
“South Pacific” centers on a group of American sailors and Navy nurses stations in the South Pacific during World War II.
