Funeral services for Cheryl L. Monson of Albert Lea will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Cheryl died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea.  She was 64.

Cheryl was born March 3, 1951, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Theodore and Estella (Mosier) Monson. She attended Albert Lea schools. Cheryl worked for Cedar Valley Services for the past 16 years and also worked at Alpha.

She loved singing, dancing and all kinds of music. She also enjoyed the outdoors — especially animals and camping.

Cheryl  is survived by her siblings Russell Monson and his wife, Judith, of  Young America, Ruth Smith of Albert Lea, Larry Monson and his wife, Bonnie, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Curtis Monson of Clarks Grove and Alice and her husband, Keith Swenson, of Rose Creek; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother; brothers Dale, Junior and Tommy; sisters-in-law Joan and Bessie; brother-in-law, Earl D. “Smitty” Smith; and three great-nephews.

Her family said, “Cheryl will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her joyful, childlike spirit.”
