Senior Josh Peters led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored, two stolen bases and a walk.

“We’re not a really experienced team (this year),” said Lake Mills coach Jason Blaser. “It’s nice to have Josh as a leader.”

The Bulldogs dominated offensively overall, with Charlie Dugger, Slade Sifuentes, Zach Throne, Luke Groe, Grant Boehmer and Cael Boehmer each scoring a run. Matt Throne scored two runs. Dugger, Sifuentes, Throne and both Grant and Cael Boehmer each had RBIs, as well.

“We did a really good job of getting runners on base just about every inning,” said Blaser. “Even if we didn’t score runs every time, we still had runners in scoring position and took advantage of walks. We were consistent.”

Starting on the mound and recording the win for Lake Mills was Sifuentes. In the 3 1/3 innings he pitched, the sophomore struck out five batters, didn’t allow any hits and gave up two earned runs and eight walks.

Peters dominated on the mound as a relief pitcher, as well. In his 3 2/3-inning appearance he struck out six and gave up one hit and three walks.

“We only allowed one hit the entire night,” said Blaser. “It’s frustrating not using the strike zone.”

Next, the Bulldogs will play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Eagle Grove.
