The Albert Lea Parks and Recreation Department had a youth pickleball clinic Tuesday on the pickleball courts in Frank Hall Park. Bicyclists in town as a part of The Tour of Minnesota — a more than 330-mile bicycle ride around the state — also took part in the clinic as many of them have been camping in Frank Hall Park during their stay in town. Members of the Albert Lea Pickleball Club were also on hand to help with the clinic.

Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Players use paddles smaller than tennis rackets but larger than table-tennis paddles. The ball is plastic with holes like a wiffleball.
