BECKER — Through the first half of the state golf meet, the top two golfers for United South Central positioned themselves in the top 15.

Ryan and Nate Pederson led the Rebels with scores in the 70s through 18 holes Tuesday on Day 1 of the two-day Class A state golf tournament at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.

Ryan shot a 34 on the front nine and a 40 on the back. His score on the front was tied with Brock Bliese of Mounds Park Academy and Zach Parker of Mille Lacs for the best round at the meet. Bliese is in first place, and Parker is tied for third. With 18 holes to go, Ryan is in sixth place out of 88 individuals.
