Salvation Army reminds public of donation policies

Warm weather has arrived and with that comes rummage, garage and estate sales. The Salvation Army thrift store is very busy during the summer months and would like to remind donors of the donation policies, according to a press release.
The Salvation Army is always in need of products, however, they can only accept items in good working condition with no rips, tears or stains. Their drop off hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There are also white drop boxes located throughout the community for clothing and shoes only.
Over the last couple of weeks the organization said it has had couches left on the loading dock and by some of the drop boxes. They want the public to understand that when these items are left outside they get wet and cannot be sold which in turn leads to disposal costs for the Salvation Army. Anyone caught leaving these items after hours will be reported.
The Salvation Army wants to thank the community for their generous donations and for supporting their mission which is, in part, “to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs without discrimination.” The Salvation Army will continue to “meet the unmet need.”
