Albert Lea Eagles Aerie No. 2258 Auxiliary

The Albert Lea Eagles Aerie No. 2258 Auxiliary met at the club on July 6. Madam President Nancy King presided. Two new members were initiated into the auxiliary. There were two new applications for membership. Both were voted in and will be notified for the date of their initiation.

Reports by Secretary Rosie Liegard and Treasurer Dalyn Wildeman were given and accepted. The React Organization sent a thank you to King as she made 12 dozen cookies which were handed out on the Fourth of July at the reststop.

Upcoming events for the auxiliary included the women’s ritual team is going to the Eagles National Convention in Milwaukee July 11 through July 17 where they competed against other teams from throughout the United States. The women’s ritual team recently placed first in the state competition in Thief River Falls. The next meeting with be Monday which will also be the Auxiliary anniversary meeting. All sisters are asked to come to help celebrate.

On Aug. 3 after the regular meeting there will be birthday cake to celebrate all members who have birthdays in August. All sisters are invited to attend. It was also noted during fair week there will be no bingo and no Friday or Saturday night suppers.

 

Conger 4-H Club

The Conger 4-H Club met on July 12 at Frank Hall Park in Albert Lea. The group would like to thank all members who marched in the Morin Lake Days parade and helped out with concessions at the Jackpot Livestock Show. They received an update on their community pride project and livestock breeder’s stand reroofing project. Livestock interviews will be from 2 – 8 p.m. July 29 at the Fairlane building. The club needs to help tear down at 5 p.m. Aug. 9 at the exhibit building. The non-livestock judging day is Aug. 3, and 4-H exhibitor passes can be picked up at this date also. Please review the July 4-H Clover Update, the Freeborn County Fair Book and mailing and emails from the extension office to stay informed about the county and state fair.  Following the meeting, members and parents enjoyed swimming at the city pool. The group’s next meeting will be on Sept. 20, and all project records are due at this meeting.
