Listen to majority of city residents

What a delight to pick up the July 28 Tribune and read an account of an elected official who is actually speaking for the people of Albert Lea. Keep up the good work, George Marin. Thanks for listening. I realize you only get one vote, but I appreciate you using it to represent the feelings of the majority of the fine citizens of Albert Lea.

When folks are struggling on a fixed income or a low-wage job, they are pretty shocked to see their tax money being spent on beautifying building fronts to house quaint, little shops that sell overpriced goods they can’t afford. The Blue Zones is another example of a money drain. God will decide how long we live; longevity can’t be bought.

What would excite them is a factory that pays a living wage and will keep their kids home.
