Entertainment at the Freeborn County Fair reached new heights with an act new to the fair this year.

The High Flying Pages Aerial and Animal Thrill Show wowed the crowd with flips on the trapeze and ballet on horseback on Friday afternoon.

Fair Manager Norm Fredin called the Pages a “very high quality” act and a number of spectators watched from the crowd, cheering as the Pages flipped midair on the trapeze.

The group is lead by Jill and Willy Pages, and the group is from Myakka City, Florida. The High Flying Pages’ act included flips on the trapeze, an intermission with JJ the Clown and Tommy the dog, flips from a swing onto a net and horseback vaulting.

The horseback vaulting is usually done by Mercedes Pages, but Sarah Whillock of Minneapolis vaulted on her horse Parry in place of Mercedes.

The High Flying Pages replaced the Elephant Encounter program, which had been at the fair for the past three years. The group has traveled worldwide and won awards for their trapeze act.

The High Flying Pages had a number of shows throughout fair week, and will have shows at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. today.
