The Fire Department was alerted to the fire at 7:47 p.m.

The release stated the fire started in the ceiling at the restaurant from a blower motor that pushed fire down through the drop ceiling.

The employees were injured when some plastic from the ceiling came down and landed on their arms before they recognized there was a fire.

“Due to the rapid response of the Albert Lea Fire Rescue, injuries were minor, a building was saved and the business will be operating within two weeks after a fire,” said Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Laskowske.

Damage to the HVAC and drop ceiling was estimated at $10,000.

The Albert Lea Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene.
