District 27A Rep. Peggy Bennett, R-Albert Lea, was presented with the 2015 Professional of the Year award at the Crown College alumni awards banquet Friday in St. Bonifacius. The award is given to alumni in recognition of outstanding professional achievement and leadership and is selected by the Crown College Alumni Association Executive Committee. Bennett is pictured with Crown College President Joel Wiggins. Bennett was recognized at the ceremony for winning the 2011 Albert Lea Area Schools Teacher of the Year Award, being a Minnesota state semifinalist for Teacher of the Year in 2012 and for her election to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2014. Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1980. — Provided
