The city of Albert Lea and the Albert Lea-Freeborn Chamber of Commerce have released statements regarding a company that is soliciting area businesses for advertising in an informational guide about the city.

According to a press release, a representative of the city stated, “It has come to the attention of the city of Albert Lea that a company has sent out an email soliciting advertising for ‘City of Albert Lea Information Guides.’ The city of Albert Lea would like to let the public know that is not affiliated with this company and has not hired them to produce this product.”

A representative of the Chamber of Commerce released a similar statement in a separate press release.

“It has come to our attention that an email regarding ad sales for Albert Lea information guides has been sent to area businesses. The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber is in no way connected to this company nor do we endorse their activities and have asked them to cease their activities in Albert Lea,” the organization stated.
