Man injured in tractor rollover

He managed to crawl away from wrecked equip.

KENSETT — A 51-year-old Kensett man was injured Monday evening after a tractor reportedly rolled over on him in a ditch.

The man was transported by Mercy Air Med to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the injury at 5:08 p.m. after receiving a 911 call of a tractor that rolled over a person at 4238 Nuthatch Ave., according to a news release.

When Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, they found the man sitting on the driveway and a tractor upside down in a nearby field. He was complaining of leg and chest pains.

He reportedly lost control of the tractor, and it rolled down the ditch, where he tried to jump out of the way. He was able to crawl away from the wreckage.

Assisting at the scene were Manly Fire and Rescue, Kensett Fire and Rescue, Northwood Fire and Rescue and the Mason City Fire Department Ambulance.
