Jill Doppelhammer, 1971-2015

A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Gary Harris will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and again one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Bear Lake Cemetery.

Jill Marie Doppelhammer passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday Oct. 30, 2015, at home in Albert Lea. She was 44 years old.

Jill was born on April 22, 1971, to Wayne and Sandy (Hansen) Doppelhammer in Albert Lea. She graduated Albert Lea High School in 1989 and earned her associate’s degree from Riverland. She’s been a lifelong resident of Albert Lea and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Jill has held various jobs including WalMart and most recently, Agilis. She was also very active in the Eagles Auxiliary. Jill loved to spend her free time playing computer games, reading, taking care of her cat and spending time with her family and friends.

Jill was a fighter and an inspiration to many throughout her courageous battle with cancer.

Those left to cherish Jill’s memory include her parents, Wayne and Sandy Doppelhammer; siblings Jay Doppelhammer and Stacy (Jamie) Andersen; grandma, Berneta Hansen; aunts and uncle Ron and Judy Hansen and Susan White; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends —especially those she met through work and the Eagles.

Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents Floyd and Gertrude Doppelhammer and Edgar Hansen.
