Retired teachers to host speaker

The Retired Educators of Albert Lea will meet at noon Thursday for lunch at America’s Best Value Inn. The speaker will be Jim Troe, who is on the board for AZ-ONE, an interfaith group sponsoring Shinefest. According to a press release, he will tell of the history and organization of this group which originated at the time of the Sesquicentennial.
Members are reminded to sign up with fellow retired educators for the Salvation Army bell ringers with Ann Berry. A collection will be taken at the meeting for the teacher grant division of the Education Foundation of Albert Lea. Teachers may apply for these grants for worthy classroom projects not covered in the regular budget.
Anyone wishing to attend, but who has not been called, should call Ann Berry 507-373-6004 by Monday.
