Q: What is your name, age and city of residence?

A: Mark Sanderson, 54, Albert Lea

 

Q: Where do you work and what is your title?

A: My wife, Karen, and I own Sanderson Auto. We both work in the business

 

Q: What interests you about automobiles?

A: My interest came from my dad’s twin brother, Tenford Sanderson. When I was very young I could see and hear him speak about the enjoyment of fixing people’s automotive problems.

 

Q: What is your favorite car make and model?

A: I like all makes and models from very old to new ones with new technology that comes with them.

 

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: Solving problems and getting cars back on the road.

 

Q: Have you always wanted to work with automobiles?

A: I guess the answer is yes. I started working on cars at a service station in high school. Went to automotive training at Riverland in 1980, graduated in 1982. Worked for Evans Motors until 1985 when I started Sanderson Auto. So I’ve been fixing cars all my adult life.

 

Q: What is your favorite memory working with automobiles?

A: My favorite memory is when we fixed a car broke down on Christmas Eve. We got them going that same day so kids got to have Christmas at Grandma’s house. That’s why we fix cars.

 

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I was born, baptized, confirmed, graduated and raised my family in this wonderful city.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I enjoy fishing with my wife and girls. Hunting with my girls.

 

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Home-cooked meals my wife prepares.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: “Shawshank Redemption.”

 

Q: What is one interesting fact about you?

A: I have gotten the opportunity to sit on some national and regional automotive adviser boards like Bosh, Napa Zandy and currently on U.S. Autoforce Tire-One.
