ST. CLOUD— A Greek Orthodox church near St. Cloud State University has fallen victim to frequent acts of vandalism.
Neighbors reported the most recent incident at Holy Myrrh-bearers Orthodox Church in St. Cloud at about 5 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Nathan Kroll estimates the vandals caused $500 in damages, including a smashed glass door and a kicked-in window.
Kroll said vandalism to the church building and grounds has become so frequent that he’s lost track of the number of incidents.
According to a press release, Kroll said the damage has included broken windows, graffiti, crushed fences, stolen property, burglary and ritual desecration.
He estimates the damages cost the church about $1,000 each year.
