1 arrested for DWI

Police arrested Christopher Todd Gilbertson for third-degree driving while intoxicated at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday at 1216 James Ave. Gilbertson was allegedly cited for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation.

 

Rental property broken into

A rental property was reported broken into at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday at 525 Triangle Drive.

 

Tires slashed

Tires were reported slashed on a 2007 Ford Taurus at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday at 1912 Bridge Ave.

 

Fraud reported

Someone was reported going onto someone else’s computer and transferring money out of that person’s account at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday at 1811 Brookside Circle.

1 arrested for misdemeanor theft

Albert Lea police arrested Kevin Earl Whelan for misdemeanor theft at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday at Shopko, 2610 Bridge Ave.. Whelan was arrested after he allegedly placed a $19.99 DVD in his jacket and walked out of the mall doors.

 

Cellphone stolen

A cellphone was reported stolen at 9:57 p.m. Tuesday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave. The Samsung Galaxy S6 was reportedly stolen after the alleged victim set the phone down on a shelf and walked away. She reportedly noticed the phone was gone once she returned. The phone had been reportedly turned off.

 

Money stolen from taxi

A male reportedly took money from a money bag in a taxi at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday at 101 N. Ninth Ave.
