Albert Lea Community Theatre announces auditions will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 for the musical “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway in Albert Lea.
A member of the smash hit musical comedy series “Don’t Hug Me,” the story takes place in the fictional town of Bunyan Bay in a little bar owned by Clara and Gunner Johnson. Clara is eight-and-a-half months pregnant with their first child when a freak snow storm occurs as she goes into labor, and Gunner realizes he’s going to have to deliver the baby in the bar.
Directed by Sue Jorgensen, eight performances of this musical comedy are scheduled for Feb. 11 through Feb. 20. There are five acting roles in the show — three men and two women.
Those auditioning should be prepared to sing, learn a simple dance routine and read from the script. Rehearsals will be scheduled weeknights, with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates.
Tickets may be purchased at actonbroadway.com or at the box office which is open Monday the week of the show’s opening and is also open from 4 to 6 p.m. every Thursday.
