STILLWATER — Stillwater police said one person is dead after a car plunged over bluffs and crashed near the Browns Creek State Trail.

Police Capt. Nate Meredith said police were called to the crash about noon Monday. The driver died at the scene.

Meredith said the cause of the crash was not immediately clear, but the Toyota Avalon apparently drove off a dead-end road.

No one else was in the car. The name of the driver was not immediately released.
