NEW RICHLAND — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal rollover crash in Steele County this morning.

The crash reportedly occurred at 5:39 a.m. today on Interstate 35, near the New Richland and Blooming Prairie exit.

It involved one vehicle.

According to the State Patrol, a 2005 Ford Super Duty pickup was driving southbound on I-35 when it lost control on an icy roadway and entered the west ditch and rolled.

The identity of the person who died is expected to be released at 2 p.m.

The State Patrol was assisted by Ellendale fire and ambulance crews, the Steele County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
