BALSAM LAKE, Wis. — Jurors in northwest Wisconsin are deciding whether a Minnesota man acted in self-defense when he fatally stabbed a fisherman along the St. Croix River.

A jury in Polk County is expected to resume deliberations today, the third day of discussions.

Twenty-year-old Levi Acre-Kendall, of Cambridge is charged with first-degree reckless homicide, second-degree intentional homicide and second-degree reckless homicide. Acre-Kendall testified he stabbed 34-year-old Peter Kelly, of St. Croix Falls, last April because he feared for his life when Kelly pursued him during a confrontation.

Prosecutors contend Acre-Kendall overreacted to the perceived threat posed by Kelly.
