Man robbed, assaulted  

A man reported being assaulted by another man with a pipe at 8:54 a.m. Friday at Express Laundry, 1609 W. Main St. Money and two cellphones were reported stolen.

Two hispanic males reportedly left on foot toward Front Street. No suspects were identified.

The case is still under investigation, according to Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hanson.

 

Cat shot with pellet gun

A cat was reported shot by a pellet at 2:32 p.m. Saturday at 201 W. Front St. in Hayward. The cat was reportedly taken to the vet and the pellet was taken out.

 

Check fraud reported

Possible check fraud was reported at 9:30 a.m. Friday at 723 Fountain St.

 

4 arrested on warrants

Police arrested Travis Thomas Stigney, 29, on a Mower County warrant at 12:56 p.m. Friday at 423 Court St.

Police arrested Ramon Paul Deboer, 22, on a local warrant at 21140 775th Ave.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Todd Richard Carlson, 46, on a Brown County warrant at 10:25 p.m. Saturday at the Freeborn County Law Enforcement Center.

Police arrested Martez Moyloin Jones on local warrants at 9:59 a.m. Thursday at the Law Enforcement Center.

 

1 cited for open container

Police cited Ryan Andrew Kerkhoff for an open container violation at 9:24 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East Main Street and Prospect Avenue.

 

4 arrested after underage drinking party

Police arrested Spencer Adam Edwards, 25, on an apprehension and detention order, Jasmine Taylor Whitmore, 18, for social host violation and Levi Colton West, 21, for social host violation, underage drinking, obstruction and disorderly conduct at 12:34 a.m. Saturday at 1608 S.E. Marshall St.

They were arrested after a large underage drinking party was reported.

 

3 cited for marijuana

Police cited Douglas William Whelan, 51, for possession of a small amount of marijuana at 8:02 p.m. Sunday on the 400 block of Frank Hall Drive. Whelan was warned for expired registration and speed.

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies cited Alan Blake Cloutier, 37, for possession of marijuana and speed at 7:02 p.m. Sunday on Freeborn County Road 45 south of Clarks Grove.

Police cited Annika Lynn Pederson for possession of a small amount of marijuana, open bottle, expired tabs and no proof of insurance at 11:05 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Blake Avenue and East Main Street.

 

2 arrested for drinking violations

Police arrested Jordan Tashawn Travis, 19, for underage drinking and open bottle violation and cited Ernest Pitchford, 36, for open bottle violation at 1:49 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of East Main Street and Morningside Road.

 

1 arrested for domestic assault

Police arrested Steven Clayton O’Rourke, 36, for domestic assault by causing fear and interfering with a 911 call at 4:47 p.m. Sunday at 202 E. Fourth St.

 

Gas stolen

A $20 gas drive-off was reported at 11:36 a.m. Saturday at Hy-Vee Gas. The vehicle was described as a Chrysler Town and Country van with a handicapped plate. The business was advised by officers that they were unable to investigate due to a lack of information.

 

Garage door damaged

Damage was reported to a garage door at 11:48 a.m. Saturday at 1809 S. Broadway. Damage was estimated at $80.

 

1 arrested for assault

Police arrested Jonathan Sivelstre Viera, 27, for domestic assault at 12:41 p.m. Saturday at 504 James Ave. He was arrested after a reported domestic situation.

 

Thefts reported

A cellphone was reported stolen at 4:18 p.m. Friday at 1000 E. Hawthorne St. The cellphone was reportedly stolen Thursday.

A red women’s Schwinn Frontier bike with a larger size black seat and water bottle rack was reportedly stolen at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at 2751 E. Main St. The bicycle was reportedly stolen between 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.

 

1 cited at high school for underage drinking

Police cited a juvenile for underage drinking at 8:22 a.m. Thursday at Albert Lea High School.

 

Identity theft reported

Someone reportedly used someone else’s name to open a credit card at 5:35 p.m. Thursday at 935 Jefferson Ave.
