What happened to the decorations?

I wholeheartedly agree with Kathy Diaz’s letter regarding the Christmas lights! It looks pretty pitiful to see the decorations, and half of them aren’t even lit! How hard would it be to check those out before they are even put up to see if they are actually a working light?

Also, the lights that used to be across the roofs of the businesses up town — that was a very enjoyable site to see all of those lit up during the holidays. Then a couple went out here, a few more there, and pretty soon it was like every other light was burnt out. None were ever replaced but they still light them up. If you aren’t going to replace them, don’t bother to turn them on.

Also, what happened to the Christmas decorations? Where did the big display go across Broadway and Williams Street? All we have are these pitiful, cheap-looking blue and silver tinsel garlands wrapped around some light poles. The flags are alright, I guess, and the cement pots with the greenery in them are very nice, but even smaller towns have better-looking decorations than our fair city.
