Memorial services for Barbara Christopherson will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Barbara Jo Christopherson of Albert Lea passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. She was 78.

Barbara Jo (Crockett) was born Nov. 2, 1937, to James and Helen (Savik) Crockett in Minneapolis. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. Shortly after graduation, Barbara married Robert Lowell Christopherson Jan. 8, 1955. They lived in the Twin Cities area for many years, as well as living in several other states, before settling down in Albert Lea in 1970 to be closer to family.

In her free time Barbara enjoyed fishing, playing cards and going to Donut Kettle. She was a member at Crossroads Church in Albert Lea.

Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory include her husband, Bob Christopherson; children Lynda (Randy) DePoppe of Racine, Wisconsin, Mark (Karrie) Christopherson of Albert Lea, Susan (Brent) Erickson of Lexington, Kentucky, Brent (Lynn) Christopherson of Stacy and Joel Christopherson of Albert Lea; grandchildren Ryan (Katie) DePoppe, Jared (Joanna) DePoppe, Bethany (Joe) Ruka, Kallyn DePoppe, Jonathan (Kaitlin) DePoppe, Rachel DePoppe, Annica DePoppe, Angela (Grant) Erlandson, Kaleb (Emily) Erickson, Sarah Erickson, Josiah (Linda) Erickson, Leah Erickson, Rebekah Erickson, Hannah Erickson, Susannah Erickson, Deborah Erickson and Samuel Erickson; great-grandchildren Alex, Bree, Maxwell and Loch; siblings Gary (Sharon) Crockett, Margie (Kent) Brown and Pamela (Andrew) Doyle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Donna and Jack Burback, Jennie Crockett and Leland Bendix; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Dale Crockett and Julie Bendix.
