Building broken into

Numerous windows were reported broken and several garage doors were reported standing open at 3:34 p.m. Sunday at SAR Manufacturing, 401 Airport Road. Thermostats had been reportedly turned off, and monitors and equipment in the building were reportedly damaged. No arrests have been made.

Albert Lea police arrested Jamie John Kujak, 27, on a gross misdemeanor warrant at 4:59 p.m. Friday at Freeborn County Law Enforcement Center.

Police arrested David Allen Villerreal, 33, on a local warrant for felony first-degree criminal damage to property at 10:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of North Second Avenue and West Clark Street. Villerreal was also cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle and warned for failure to signal 100 feet from an intersection.

Police arrested Michele Elizabeth Gadbaw, 33, on warrants after a traffic stop at 7:27 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of South Broadway and East Front Street. Police arrested Gerald Buffett- Bey, 54, for possession of stolen property and fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine at the same traffic stop.

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies arrested Vincent Edward York Jr. on an arrest warrant at 5:52 a.m. Sunday.

1 arrested for probation violation

Police arrested Michael Bernal, 24, for a probation violation at 11:13 p.m. Friday at 806 Troy Road. Bernal was held on an apprehension and detention order and cited for criminal damage to property.

Assault reported

An assault was reported at 3:46 p.m. Friday at 624 Larimore Circle. The assault reportedly occurred Jan. 3. No citations have been made. The case is still under investigation, said Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hanson.

Meth use reported

A man was reported using methamphetamine, walking around naked and trying to climb a wall at 7:01 p.m. Friday at 104 S. Ermina Ave. No citations were made.

Laptop stolen

A Dell laptop was reported stolen at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at 301 W. Clark St. The laptop had an estimated value of $50.

1 arrested for theft

Police arrested Jeffrey Paul Nielsen, 52, for misdemeanor theft, misdemeanor criminal damage and fleeing on foot at 6:20 p.m. Sunday at Hy-Vee, 2708 Bridge Ave. Nielsen was arrested after reportedly trying to leave with items. He reportedly tried to leave before officers arrived.

Marijuana found in squad car

A small baggie of marijuana was found in the backseat of a squad car at 10:55 a.m. Sunday at Freeborn County Law Enforcement Center. The marijuana was submitted into evidence to be destroyed.
