Samuel McGinnis of Albert Lea and Ariel Johnson of Waseca were married in a double ring ceremony at 5 p.m. Sept. 25, 2015, in Waseca County Courthouse Park. The Rev. Mike Treachler officiated. A reception followed at Starfire Event Center in Waseca.

The bride is the daughter of Jule and Wendy Johnson of Waseca.

The groom is the son of John McGinnis of Belle Plaine and Kristin and Carey Bangert of Albert Lea and the grandson of LeRoy and Phyllis Meyer of DeGraff.

The bride is a graduate of Waseca High School and Minnesota State University in Mankato.

The groom is a graduate of Albert Lea High School and Minnesota State University in Mankato.

The maids of honor were Tenille Nelson of Waseca, friend, and Allison Rocca of Fernandina Beach, Florida, friend. Bridal attendants were Layne Bluhm of Waseca, friend; Crystal Myers of Waseca, sister; Jessie Alvarado of Waseca, sister; and Carly Von Bank of Waseca, sister.

Best men were Zach McGinnis of San Diego, California, twin brother, and Justin McGinnis of Eagan, brother. The groom’s attendants were Mark Walton of Clarks Grove, friend;  Eric Fynbo of Savage, friend; AJ Kortz of Albert Lea, friend; Wes Breuer of Mankato, brother-in-law; and Jordan Loehr of Albert Lea, brother-in-law.

Other participants included the host couple, Dwight and Dani Hoy of Waseca, family friends of the bride; VIP Nacho McGinnis-Johnson, furbabe of the couple; bride’s brothers-in-law Mike Myers, Erick Alvarado and Tim Von Bank; sisters of the groom Laura McGinnis, Anne McGinnis and Jessica Breuer; and 25 nieces and nephews.

The wedding was an outdoor wedding in the woods. Children sat on handmade quilts thrown in the grass. The bride’s family made up the seven-piece band that performed the music.

The couple went on a road trip to Duluth after the wedding.
