The Freeborn County Soil Health Team is focused on soil health and water quality while improving productivity, profitability and sustainability of our natural resources. Innovations for healthier soils can be incorporated into any farming system.
Attendees will learn from speakers like Jay Fuhrer on the Five Foundations of Healthy Soil and Bob Burger on soil biology and crop fertility. Also presenting will be strip-till farmer Doug Adams, who recently started cover cropping and assistant professor Scott Wells with the University of Minnesota. Adams will speak about interseeding cover crops into V7-V8 corn.
